Pre and Post Pregnancy

Pre and Post Pregnancy

Learning that you are pregnant is probably the best news you will ever get. Exercising throughout your pregnancy has proven benefits to you and your baby as well as preparing you physically for labour.

Many women today feel that they want to stay in reasonable shape throughout their pregnancy and only gain the necessary 25 to 35 pounds required for child birth. A lot of women become unnecessarily too far out of shape whilst they are pregnant and find it an impossible task to ever get their body back.

We want to work with you throughout your pregnancy making sure that your body does not become too far out of shape. Then we want to help you get your old body back when you are ready to resume your exercise. We will make sure your workouts are effective but safe so that you have a healthy pregnancy. Pregnancy workout and exercise DVDs are very popular but cannot replace the experience of a professional trainer who makes sure that your workouts are personalised for you. Exercising throughout your pregnancy is proven to be beneficial to both you and your baby.

Your nutrition will also play a major role in the health of both you and your baby. Whilst you are pregnant your baby is living off you. Therefore if your pregnancy diet is nutritionally balanced, your baby will receive all the nutrients that it needs to thrive. You want to make sure that your baby has the best start in life, this should start before conception. Pregnancy vitamins may also be something to consider if your nutritional intake is not adequate but speak to a professional first.

Delivering your baby is probably the toughest thing you will ever have to do. Anyone who has been through labour knows how painful and exhausting yet at the same time magical this really is. Regular exercise will help you prepare your body both physically and mentally for such an ordeal.

Approx six weeks after the baby has arrived your body’s hormones will have returned to normal and your joints will once again be secure therefore it will be safe to resume exercise. Now is the time to start your post natal training and get your body back. Unlike your prenatal workouts we will now set goals and increase the intensity as we want to see results. Your old wardrobe is waiting for you and we want you to start feeling good about yourself.

We offer a free consultation if you would like to discuss your pre and post natal exercise and nutritional plans with us whilst also preparing for labour. Give us a call on 01274 565467 or use our contact form.
